Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 2026
This policy explains what Fshare collects when you send a file or use the tools, and what we do with it. The short version: we keep as little as possible.
Files you send
Uploaded file contents are deleted automatically after expiry. Expired files cannot be downloaded. Transfer metadata and download activity are retained for account history and administration, even after the file contents are deleted.
We do not inspect, analyse, or sell the contents of your files. Transfers are served over HTTPS, so they are encrypted in transit.
The browser tools
The compression, conversion, and editing tools run entirely in your browser. Files processed by those tools are never uploaded — they never leave your device.
The What Is My IP tool contacts ipify's IPv4-only and IPv6-only services directly from your browser to detect both public addresses. These services see your connecting IP address; no files, account credentials, or page referrer are sent to them.
What we log
Our server keeps minimal request logs (IP address, timestamp, and the requested path) for a short period to operate the service, prevent abuse, and enforce rate limits. Upload and download history also records the browser, operating system, and preferred language reported by each request. These device details are visible only to site administrators and are retained with transfer metadata for administration and troubleshooting. We do not use these logs to build advertising profiles.
Passwords
If you protect a transfer with a password, we store only a salted hash of it — never the password itself. A lost password cannot be recovered; the file simply stays inaccessible until it expires.
Feedback
When you submit feedback, we store your message, submission time, source page path, language, and any optional email address or screenshot you provide. Query strings are not stored with the source path. Feedback and screenshots are accessible only to site administrators for support and service improvement, and are retained for follow-up. They are not public file transfers and do not use transfer expiry rules.
Do not include passwords or sensitive information in messages or screenshots. Your email is optional and is used only to respond to your feedback. You may request removal through the feedback form.
